Oh, fuck you! Fuck you! In-N-Out Burger?! Oh, rub it in, rub it in. What a condescending asshole! I can see you laughing at all us people east of Phoenix. But who'll be laughing when you choke on your animal style double double? Not you, that's for sure. It's just not anatomically possible.

i actually liked this movie!! he was classic sandler in a deep stomach laughter at several points in the movie. i agree that the use of old main stays such as rob Schneider and John Turturro are essential to making sander films really great.
certain cameos that always appear in his movies are usually ok but michael buffer manages to put together is his cheesy lines and my boy dave matthews have a very funny role as a redneck "terrorist" thats going to kill puppies!
overall the grade is very fair...were not looking for oscars!!!! its laugh out loud comedy and it blows away the "love Guru"

Adam Sandler is classic in his own way, though he tends to do his best work when he stays casual, not trying too hard to be funny or deep, etc.

I believe you've found one of the uncanny elements of film. Since a film can be repeated in two distinct ways (i.e. by rewatching and by remaking) in identical form it is quite unlike most other art forms (particularly other performance art forms) which are impossible to mimic. As a result, there is always something strange and disconcerting about remakes and the reappearance of that which was believed to be lost, forgotten, dead. The most recent Indiana Jones and Star Wars movies are good examples. In fact, the entire medium is forcefully uncanny since it simultaneously replicates the "reality" of human vision almost exactly while also subverting it and twisting it out of form in strange, new techniques. Furthermore, it is uncanny that the audience is not individualized but repeated on huge scales--often thousands of theaters (or stores) across countries at one time--in stark contrast to most other art forms, even the performative ones. The only films which can possibly confront this phenomenon (even if unintentionally) are those which offer various interpretations, hidden meanings, and a life outside their overt images and dialogue. If you don't know it's there (and it is there), you can't be bored with it.
